This course will teach elementary potting techniques involving throwing the basic forms and introducing Glazing and Decorating. Limited tools will be loaned during the term of the program and all supplies, glazes, and firing costs are included in the course fee.

Plein Air Watercolour Painting
Instructor – Peter Cheung
Topics covered include use of colour, composition, and brushwork. Each class will start with a demo. The classes will be adapted to suit the

In this beginner Crochet class students will be provided with a crochet hook, and cotton yarn to learn each of the stitches. They will learn to hold their work and starting and finishing. The other stitches will be the chain, slipstitch, single crochet, half double, double and treble. They will also learn to put a ridged surface in the design. While learning to read a pattern, a Granny square will be taught which uses a number of these stitches and then join squares together.
Students will have a choice of choosing a small project such as scarf, hat or bag, to start on the second/third week. They must purchase their own yarn to suit the project they’ve chosen.
Cost: $100 (CVA Members $80) All tools and equipment are provided and some supplies are included in the course fee.

basic course will be very hands on, with participants weaving from day
one. All will have the use of an individual table loom that you can take
home to do homework!
The course fee includes all materials and use of the looms.

Planning Your Painting
A 2 day Weekend Workshop with Peter Cheung
"How to transfer a normal photo into a beautiful, eye-catching painting.” Artists will discuss and watch a demo on editing, lighting, texture, expressive brushstrokes, and how to paint quickly before creating a painting from their own photo.
Artists are recommended to bring two printed photos on paper for
editing purposes. Peter's demos will be in oil or watercolour. Students
may use any media they are familiar with.
"For intermediate to advanced painters who are already comfortable with any of oil, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, etc. This class is not suitable for beginners as how-to-use-media is not part of this class"

* All courses are held at Cedarvale Cottage in Cedarvale Park located in the park at the corner of Main Street & Maple Avenue in Georgetown - UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED.
* Registration to fill classes will be in order that fees are paid.

* All courses are subject to cancellation if the registration minimum is not reached one week prior to the start date.
* No refund will be given once the course starts.
* A full refund less a $20.00 admin. fee will be given to registrants canceling no later than two weeks before the course begins.
