Pottery on the Wheel – All Levels                              Instructor: Frans Rood
This course will teach elementary potting techniques involving throwing the basic forms and introducing Glazing and Decorating. Limited tools will be loaned during the term of the program and all supplies, glazes, and firing costs are included in the course fee.

Introduction to Weaving                            Instructor: Ian Oldaker
This basic course will be very hands on, with participants weaving from day one. All will have the use of an individual table loom that you can take home to do homework! 
The course fee includes all materials and use of the looms.

Dates: 6 Wednesdays starting February 22

Glass Fusing for Beginners                                                 Instructor: Shelli Harrison
This workshop will give you a start in making jewelry or small glass pieces that will be fired in our glass kiln. Drawing or painting ability is not necessary with this workshop, so all those interested are welcome.
Dates: Thursday February 23          
Times: 7:00 – 10:00pm
      
Cost: $ 60 (CVA members $50)
for up to 4 small pieces

Decorative Stained Glass – Beginner levels I & 2        Instructor: Susan Kerr
This course is designed to teach the beginner the basics of creating a pattern, methods of scoring, breaking out, grinding, foiling and soldering coloured and textured glass. Small class size affords greater teaching time to each participant.
Dates: 8 Thursdays - starting March 23
Times: First and last class 7:00 - 10pm  -- all other classes 7:30 - 10:00pm

Cost: $210  (CVA Members $190)
   All tools and equipment are provided and supplies are included in the course fee.

Painting Start-to-Finish        All Levels                  instructor Peter John Reid

This course will take your painting from start to finish. Learn how to maximize
your ideas usin
g colour, composition and form.

Mornings will be spent in informative sessions with plenty of hands on experience using
acrylic paint. In the afternoons work on your own painting, using whatever medium you like while receiving individual advice and support from Peter.

Maximum class size = 12

Drawing - the Basics                        Beginner                            Instructor: Stephanie Schirm
While working mostly with still life objects - students will enhance observational skills and
learn how to draw what they see.

Dates: Fridays starting April 31           
Times:  1:30pm – 3:30pm
   
Cost:  $180 (CVA members $140) for 8 sessions

Kids’ Art Club           Kids (5 to 11) + will accept under 5yrs if accompanied by an adult
Kids can have fun while exploring different kinds of art. Register on-line for these sign-up sessions..
Dates: Sunday mornings starting      TBA      
Times: 9:30 – 11:00pm 
               
Cost:  $15/day or any 4 Sundays for $50   (2 kids for $25/day)

Pottery for Youth    (10 to 18)                                              instructor Lisa Pointner
Learn to build Fantasy Dragons using slabs, molds, coils, and pinching. These are methods used
from ancient time to current day.

Dates: Rescheduled to May!

Sumi-e                                                 All Levels                             instructor Roslyn Levin
In this weekend workshop
the artist is challenged to create paintings of simplicity and eloquence. Learn more brush control and sensitivity, to gain a strength in your brushwork.

Beginner Encaustics
                      Beginner                  instructor Margaret Carney
This 2 day workshop will allow participants to learn the basic foundation skills of encaustic painting (painting with wax)
Maximum class size = 7
Dates: TBA   Times: 12:30pm - 3:30pm

Wire Jewelry
                                                  Beginner                      instructor Susan Mast

Projects include creating simple ear wires, dangles to hang from the ear wire, hammered wire earrings, a simple ring or shawl pin from copper wire, and custom-made jewelry components such as closures, connectors, and headpins. Will make at least 4 pieces.

Pewter Casting                                        All Levels                    instructor Margaret Carney

This 2 day workshop will allow participants to learn the basic foundation skills of making a
mold and casting in Pewter.

Maximum class size = 7
Dates: TBA

Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Cost:  $150 (CVA members $130)

* All courses are held at Cedarvale Cottage in Cedarvale Park located at the corner of Main Street & Maple Avenue in Georgetown - UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED.

* Registration to fill classes will be in order that fees are paid.

* Registration deadline is one week before the course starts - but check to see if extension is available.

* All courses are subject to cancellation if the registration minimum is not reached one week prior to the start date.

* No refund will be given once the course starts.

* A full refund less a $20.00 admin. fee will be given to registrants canceling no later than two weeks before the course begins.

* Any additional supply fees indicated will be paid to the instructor at the first class.
